Lymphoma involving the ulnar nerve: sonographic findings.

چکیده
e report a case of a 70-year-old man with lymphoma of the ulnar nerve that presented as a palpable mass on his left forearm and wrist. He had a history of oral lymphoma with complete remission after chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The lesion appeared sonographically as a hypoechoic mass mimicking a cyst encasing the ulnar nerve. However, the mass showed vascularity on color Doppler sonography. Lymphoma involving the peripheral nervous system is very rare.1 To the best of our knowledge, there has been no report of sonographic findings that describe lymphoma involving the peripheral nerves. In this report, we describe the sonographic features of a case involving lymphoma of the ulnar nerve and correlate sonography with magnetic resonance image, positron emission tomography/computed tomography, and histopathologic examination.

High resolution sonographic examination: a newer technique to study ulnar nerve neuropathy in leprosy
Objectives: A prospective case control study was conducted to calculate normal dimensions of ulnar nerve and study the size, echotexture and morphologic alterations in ulnar nerve in patients with leprosy. Methods: The study group included 48 patients diagnosed with leprosy on basis of clinical, bacteriologic and/or histopathologic evaluation. Sonographic measurements were taken at 3 levels aro...
متن کاملSonographic Measurements Can Be Misleading for Diagnosing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
OBJECTIVES To compare the nerve cross sectional areas (CSA) of patients with RA without any sign of peripheral neuropathy to healthy controls. METHODS Clinical, electrophysiological and sonographic assessments were done by three blinded researchers. The patients who had an electrodiagnostic or clinical of peripheral neuropathy were excluded from the study. Nerve CSA were measured in various l...
متن کاملExtensive sonographic ulnar nerve enlargement above the medial epicondyle is a characteristic sign in Hansen’s neuropathy
OBJECTIVE Earlier studies have shown sonographic enlargement of the ulnar nerve in patients with Hansen's neuropathy. The present study was performed to determine whether sonography or electrophysiological studies can detect the specific site of ulnar nerve pathology in leprosy. METHODS Eighteen patients (thirty arms) with Hansen's disease and an ulnar neuropathy of whom 66% had borderline tu...
متن کاملSonographic diagnosis of recurrent ulnar nerve compression by ganglion cysts.
Lesions of the ulnar nerve are the most common causes of paralysis of a peripheral nerve.1,2 The cubital tunnel (or sulcus ulnaris) syndrome is the second most frequent compression syndrome of the upper extremities after the carpal tunnel syndrome.3,4 We report our findings in a patient who suffered from cubital tunnel syndrome and underwent subcutaneous anterior transposition, a surgical proce...
متن کاملUlnar nerve dislocation and snapping triceps syndrome: diagnosis with dynamic sonography--report of three cases.
Initial experience with the use of dynamic sonography of the elbow for diagnosing ulnar nerve dislocation and snapping triceps syndrome is reported. Cases of three consecutive patients who underwent sonographic evaluation of the elbow and subsequent open elbow surgery for symptomatic ulnar nerve dislocation were reviewed. Dynamic sonography of the elbow was used to aid in the accurate diagnosis...
